Notater - Anna M. Stol was born Ane Marie Andershaug in 1864 in Meråker, øvre Størdalens Praestgjeld, Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. She took the name Anna M. Stol when she immigrated to America.
Anna came to America from Norway in 1881. She went by the name of Anna Stol. Her destination was Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she remained for three years. It was there that she met Frank Swanson, who was there helping to build a railroad in South Dakota.
They married in Mankato, Minnesota in 1884 and she became an American citizen at that time. They continued to farm in the Mankato area thru the 1895 census records. They had a hired girl by the name of Anna Hohle to help Anna with the farm as Frank was often times called away building railroads.
The foster daughter they took in was Frank's biological daughter, Cajsa (Leta) Swanson, who was the product of an out of marriage relationship with the hired farm girl, Anna Hohle. Cajsa remained with Frank and Anna Swanson after Anna Hohle married Anna Swanson's half brother, Carl Geving.
By 1900 the family, Frank & Anna, children Albertina and Oscar, and Anna Hohle had moved to Foxhome, Minnesota.
On the 1910 census Anna states she had had 2 children and the 2 of them are still living.
By 1905 the family, except for Albertina, move to Maine Township in Otter Tail County.
Frank and Anna moved to moved to Fish Lake in Aurdal Township in 1928 and it is at that place that Anna died in Sep 1930.
Anna died at their home on Fish Lake. According to her death certificate at the time of her death they have lived at their home 2 years and 2 months. Anna was 65 years, 9 months, 10 days old when she died of cancer of the rectum.
