    Notater:

Frank Larson Swanson was born Fredrik Larsson Svenson 1857 in Stora Svalehult, Väne Åsaka, Västra Götalands Iän, Sweden.
Frank Swanson first shows on American records as Frederick Swanson who came to America from Sweden on March 17, 1880. He was living with his half brother Andrew Swanson in Alfsborg, Sibley, County, Minnesota.
Frank Swanson's mother was married twice: both husbands had the same surname of Svensson (Swanson in the U.S.) and Frank and Andrew Swanson are half-brothers.
Fredrick went by the name Frank Swanson
In 1884, Frank was working for the Railroad in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he met Anna M. Stol.
Frank had been living in Blue Earth County, Minnesota in 1884 when he married Anna Stol on Oct. 4, 1884 in Mankato.
Frank became an American citizen on Dec. 17, 1892 in the Blue Earth County District Court.
Frank and Anna were living in Decoria Township, Blue Earth County in 1895.
Frank and Anna Swanson had a hired girl by the name of Anna Hohle. Frank fathered a child with Anna Hohle in 1894 while under his employment. Anna Hohle stayed in the Swanson home with her daughter Cajsa after her birth.
In 1897, the entire family (including Anna Hohle and Cajsa) moved to Foxhome, Minnesota. Frank had bought land in Foxhome, Wilken County, Minnesota in June 1899 through April 1900 and started to build a hotel and livery barn.
Frank believed the railroad would eventually run thru Foxhome and he would build a town and make himself a name and money. According to the 1900 census, Frank and Anna Swanson, along with children Albertina & Oscar are living at the hotel along with Anna Hohle and Anna Swanson's half brother, Carl Geving. Absent is Cajsa. Cajsa was living at the hotel with Anna Hohle, but she is not enumerated on the 1900 census.
Tuesday, April 1, 1902 Frank Swanson made a trip back to his home in Sweden.
June 18, 1902, Carl Geving (Anna Stol's half brother) and Anna Hohle married. Anna Hohle Geving wanted to take Cajsa to live with her and Carl. Frank refused to let Cajsa leave his home.
Frank and his family continued to live in Foxhome until he found out the railroad was not going thru Foxhome. He then sold the Hotel Columbia to his son-in-law, Richard Butler and daughter Tena in 1903.
Frank then bought land in Maine Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota beginning in 1903 and he and wife Anna along with son Oscar and daughter Cajsa moved to Maine Twp.
Jun 1905, Frank was 48, had lived in Minnesota for 25 years, 0 months. he has lived in Otter Tail County for 1 year, 11 months which calculate, indicates the family moved to Otter Tail County in Jul 1903. Frank is a farmer. Cajsa is not listed next to their son Oscar on the census. She is listed after the hired laborers that live on the farm. Whoever gave the census takers the information did not think highly of Cajsa/Cagsa or she would have been listed in order under Oscar.
26 Apr 1910, Frank is living in Maine Township, he has been married to Anna for 25 years and still farms. They became owners of a fine 400 acre tract which was heavily timbered, but by their untiring efforts it became one of the finest farms in Otter Tail county. Only son Oscar lives at home. Cajsa is no longer in the household. Cajsa's name at some point became Leta S. Swanson.
17 Jan 1920, there were three families living on the Swanson farm: Frank and Anna Swanson, Oscar and Lillian Swanson, and Alfred and Leta (Swanson) Bjorgo. In 1920 Frank and Anna decided to take a vacation and rented their farm for two years which they spent very enjoyably in California and Washington. On their return they again took charge of the farm, but later they sold half of the farm to their son-in-law, Richard H. Butler, and the other half to their son Oscar.
3 Apr 1930, Frank and Anna are living alone in Aurdal Township. They bought the Westerhaug place at Fish lake in Aurdal which they built up and improved into an ideal home.
    Anna died Sep 1930.
Fredrick Swanson died at his home in May 1937 at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 25 days old from heart problems. He had lived in the U. S. 57 years and lived at his residence for 8 years. He is widowed farmer.
